Paw Patrol-Wax Melt

Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to share my journey with many dogs. Still, none have left a mark quite like the two remarkable companions I welcomed in 2000 while stationed at Vancouver Barracks in Washington. Gage and Hunter, siblings with an unbreakable bond, entered our new home in Portland. In a playful display of independence, Hunter promptly decided to mark her territory on the shag green carpet—her witty way of asserting that she would be in charge!

 These two German Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix puppies quickly became my devoted shadows, and our years together were filled with unforgettable moments. I’ll always cherish our trips to Home Depot, where I would hold Hunter’s leash as she confidently took charge of Gage’s, leading him wherever she pleased with her spirited personality.  Despite the typical sibling bickering, when we ventured to the park or the dog beach, they embodied teamwork. Circling the other dogs, they made sure everyone was playing nicely, stepping in to maintain harmony and keeping any unruly pups in check. They truly were the guardians of good behavior, always on “Puppy Patrol.”

 I dedicate this candle to my beloved dogs, Hunter (2000-2013) and Gage (2000-2015). They are never far from my thoughts, and it warms my heart to hear my son Braeden recall his fond memories of them. Their spirits continue to live on in our hearts, a testament to the love and joy they brought into our lives.
